The internet is full of incredible tools, but keeping track of them across endless bookmarks is a mess. The original gathered.tools was a step in the right direction, but for the second version, I wanted to build something more scalable.

What is gathered.tools?

gathered.tools is a personal project I created to catalog and share the various tools I use in my work. The idea began with a Google Docs spreadsheet, which quickly became very confusing as I added more tools. I wanted to create a more user-friendly and visually appealing way to organize and share all these amazing tools I found, so I decided to build a custom website for it.

The Design

The UI was completely overhauled to prioritize the content. I utilized a deep, low-contrast dark theme (anchored by an "Olive Green/Army" accent) to reduce eye strain and make the colorful tool thumbnails pop.

For typography, I chose Bricolage Grotesque. Its modern, slightly brutalist letterforms give the interface a technical yet approachable personality that aligns perfectly with a platform built for creatives.
